CSquared launched its operations in Uganda in 2013, with a mission to bring faster, more reliable Internet to the people and places that needed it most. We began by building a metro fiber network in Kampala, a bustling urban center that was previously constrained by pre-broadband speeds.
CSquared has laid over 1050 kilometers of metropolitan fiber in Greater Kampala and installed city-wide WiFi networks to offer wholesale last-mile Wi-Fi access. This extensive infrastructure allows Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to leverage our network to deliver high-speed broadband services to mobile users, businesses, and residential consumers.
With a dynamic population exceeding 40 million, having a resilient fiber network in Uganda holds significant socio-economic implications. As a landlocked country, reliable connectivity is crucial for bridging geographical barriers, facilitating trade, and ensuring seamless communication. A robust fiber network supports economic growth by enabling e-commerce, enhancing educational opportunities through e-learning, and improving healthcare delivery via telemedicine. It also attracts foreign investment and fosters innovation, thereby driving Uganda’s overall development and its standing in East Africa.
CSquared’s commitment to Uganda’s digital future is further demonstrated by our ongoing efforts to expand connectivity beyond urban centers. By enhancing internet accessibility and reliability, we are playing a pivotal role in transforming Uganda into a digitally inclusive economy, empowering its citizens, and solidifying its position as a key player in East Africa’s digital landscape.
